Involvement Survey

January 21, 2007 will be “Involvement Sunday.” Our lesson from the pulpit will discuss involvement from the Biblical perspective. A complete listing of all the areas of service will be provided. You may already be involved, or you may see where you would like to be involved in the future. An involvement survey form will be completed on an individual basis that morning. Every Christian needs to be involved in works of service. Maybe this is doing something for hospital patients. Maybe it is personal outreach. We all have different talents, but we all have talents.  We want to be sure that you are aware of all the needs the church has for workers, so that you can make an informed decision of where you can best fulfill God’s call on your life.

2007 Budget

Thank you to everyone that turned in an item for the budget consideration. Input for the 2007 budget has exceeded by several thousands of dollars our budget for 2006. Our giving was $21,535 short of our 2006 budget. Please pray that the Shepherds will choose wisely concerning the items and the amount budgeted for each item for 2007. We want to have a budget that is both achievable and one that leaves room for God to be working in our midst.

Life Groups

The “furlough” in our LIFE Groups program is over. Sessions with the new groups will begin today, January 7, 2007.

The LIFE Group facilitators for this year are:

·         Group A - Anderson/Hobby

·         Group B - Copeland/Hurst

·         Group C - Fry/Wagner

·         Group D - Bettis/McLenna

·         Group E - Fuller/Montgomery

·         Group F - Martin/Nicks

·         Group G - Leach/Pennock

You should have already been contacted by one of these men as to when and where your January 7 LIFE Group meeting will occur. At that initial meeting, your group will decide when and where future meetings will  occur.

We designated the month of December 2006 as the month to sign-up for the LIFE Groups. This was to allow for planning of the new groups. Now that they are formed, you are still free to sign-up with any of the groups that have not filled up with 15 adult members.

Our plan is to multiply a group into two groups when that number is exceeded. Our prayer is that God will bless this effort during the year so that we see the multiplication taking place.

State of the Congregation

The Shepherds will be presenting what they believe the “state of the Congregation” is next week, January 14th. This will also highlight some goals for the future.

Additional Deacons

The men assisting the Elders in the selection of additional deacons are reviewing the names submitted by the congregation.  We plan to put the names forward for your consideration later this month. Thank you for your prayers and your recommendations for this effort.
